Are you looking to make changes in your life?

I’m a fully qualified hypnotherapist and life coach based in Kent and South London. I offer hypnotherapy and coaching services designed to enable you to make the changes you want in your life.

Hypnotherapy can help you deal with a wide range of emotional and physical issues. These include managing stress and anxiety, improving self-confidence, breaking unwanted habits, coping with chronic pain, and overcoming depression.

Alternatively, life coaching might be right for you. It’s good for practical issues, like moving on after redundancy, changing career, setting up in business, losing weight, reaching fitness goals or taking on new life changes.

I’d like you to feel entirely comfortable that I’m the right person to help you. So I offer a free no-strings phone consultation (up to 15 minutes), and will happily answer any questions you have. Have a look at the video below, check the FAQs to find out more about hypnotherapy and life coaching, or read the success stories and Google reviews to hear from people I’ve helped.

about me

I’m a fully qualified hypnotherapist and life coach, with a practitioner diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy, plus a NLP Coaching Certificate from London Hypnotherapy Academy. I am a Member of the Association for Professional Hypnosis and Psychotherapy, and the National Council for Hypnotherapy. I’m fully insured and have a DBS certificate (formerly CRB check).

I have also undertaken specialist training in conditions including anxiety and depression; and completed the NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Awareness of Mental Health Problems.

I offer help with emotional and physical issues such as losing weight, addiction, insomnia, anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, depression, and chronic pain. My life coaching services provide support and motivation with more practical issues like redundancy, making life changes, and achieving fitness goals. I use a variety of techniques including Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy (incorporating CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR),  Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), and solution focused strategies. This means that I can always structure sessions around what works best for you, rather than a one size fits all approach.

As a professional musician, I am especially able to help people to fulfil their creative and performance goals. This might be overcoming stage fright, letting go of negative limiting beliefs, or becoming more focused in order to reach their potential. My in-depth understanding of performance anxiety also means I can help with fears around public speaking, exam stress, and presentation nerves.

Whatever the issue, I will always design an approach to suit you, and tailor sessions to your individual needs. I also work with children and young people.

If you’re not sure whether coaching or hypnotherapy is more appropriate, check the FAQs, email me at carolinejago @ or call me on 07947 475721 for a no-obligation 15-minute phone consultation – I’ll be happy to answer your questions. In the meantime, why not check out my success stories – will you be next?

Coaching for career development

After being made redundant I went to see Caroline for coaching sessions to better understand what I needed to do to get back into work and find a fulfilling job. She provided me with excellent guidance and exercises that helped me to see my situation from a different perspective. From this I gained focus and a better understanding of what I wanted from a job. Following a couple of sessions I found a new job that is stimulating and is helping to develop my career. Having suffered from bullying in a previous job, I had some anxiety issues surrounding work. To address this, Caroline included in the sessions hypnotherapy/visualisations and taught me helpful relaxation techniques. I now practice these and have found them to be invaluable in managing this anxiety. Caroline is friendly and professional, I highly recommend her services if you are looking for better focus in positively changing your current situation.” (SM)

Overcoming depression (from a GP)

I really wouldn’t have believed such a shift in mindset was possible especially after two sessions. It’s life changing. You truly are a miracle worker. I’m recommending you left, right and centre to friends. I really can’t thank you enough.” (RW)

Dealing with anger

My issues were anger, and my weight. I was tired and angry all the time, and I wanted to be the person that I was before my anger took over. My life is much better now – I am calmer and I love myself more. I found that I don’t need to be angry all the time about things that are beyond my control, and I can also control myself over food and not let emotions or food rule me.

After I spoke to Caroline by phone I knew she was the the right person for me, and I was right. She has had such a positive impact – I would choose her 100 times again!” (DS)

A 10-year problem solved in an hour

I saw Caroline to work on my comfort eating. I had been trying to deal with the symptoms of the problem over 10 years, trying to build better habits, but without much success. It was causing potential health problems, and not controlling the habits was causing worse mental and emotional problems. I went to Caroline almost as a last resort, not entirely believing hypnotherapy would work. I had one session lasting an hour, and we got right down to exactly why I was comfort eating. Since then, instead of struggling with impulses to eat sugary foods, I have no interest in them at all. I feel happier and more effective, as I am not wasting energy and headspace on trying to be ‘good’; I am also feeling healthier. Caroline created a sympathetic, non-judgemental and calm environment, made me feel comfortable, and explained the whole process so I knew what to expect. I cannot recommend her highly enough!” (DH)

Building academic confidence

“I felt cared for and listened to, and came out of the experience with a better outlook on my PhD and a greater sense of inner strength. I felt able to actually complete my PhD, for the first time in a long time – also more sure of myself in academic settings and trusting my instincts a little more. The hypnotherapy sessions seemed to give me an uplift and freed me from some of my damaging thought patterns. They gave me a different way to think about myself and my work, and to connect who I was as a child and growing up to the person I am now. Caroline is warm, generous and very good at her job. I would not hesitate to recommend her.” (AK)

Hypnotherapy in pregnancy

“Caroline tailored an audio session for me when I was expecting my first child and was very nervous about the birth experience. She came up with a brilliant programme that I listened to repeatedly, which involved calming breathing techniques, visualisation and positive affirmations. I can’t speak highly enough of how it helped my nerves. As I got closer to my due date it became apparent a c-section would be safest. On the morning I was booked in I found myself petrified. I listened to Caroline’s audio and it literally rescued me from a blind panic. The breathing techniques and visualisation helped bring me to a relaxed state where I felt able to get in the car and go to the hospital, then carried me through to theatre. I truly don’t know what I would have done without Caroline’s audio hypnotherapy. I can’t recommend Caroline highly enough and am truly grateful for her confident reassuring techniques.” (MM)

Making major life changes

I originally came to Caroline to reduce my alcohol intake as I knew this was affecting various aspects of my life. Since then, I haven’t had a single urge to drink alcohol, especially when in social environments when I thought I might struggle the most.

I was so delighted with the results that Caroline and I achieved through our first session that I now have sessions with her on a regular basis. Since starting just a few months ago I have quit alcohol, gained a huge amount of productivity, started to realise my potential again, and have even started a new business! None of this would have happened were it not for Caroline and her accessible, friendly and professional work.” (LC)

Overcoming insomnia

I’ve suffered from insomnia for at least 20-25 years. We did three sessions together, and I can now have a few more hours sleep. I also find it a lot easier to go back to sleep and stay asleep now, so I really have to thank Caroline for the wonderful work that’s she’s done, and I do recommend her to anyone who is having problems with insomnia or anything else because I think the way she does it is very relaxing. I recommend her highly to anyone who’d like to give it a try for their problems.” (NA)

Managing chronic pain

I had three sessions of hypnotherapy with Caroline to help reduce my chronic pain. My first session began with a thorough consultation where Caroline took the time to understand the issues I was facing. As I am familiar with meditation and mindfulness I thought I knew what hypnosis would be like but I was very pleasantly surprised. Caroline guided me into a deeply relaxed trance like state – I felt very peaceful and even euphoric at times! After my first session I felt more alert and awake despite having a broken sleep the night before.

During my next two sessions, Caroline really focused on the key issues I was facing, and used the information I had given her in my consultation to tailor hypnotherapy to my specific needs. Caroline used a variety of techniques including visualisation, which I found very easy to imagine. After each session I noticed an improvement in my pain levels and deep sense of relaxation. The hypnotherapy I had with Caroline has helped me to relax, find peace and better manage my symptoms. I would certainly recommend Caroline to anyone thinking about hypnotherapy.” (EH)

Finding inner strength

I wished to gain greater understanding of what I would like from my life and to find strength within myself to feel better about who I am, and move on from difficult relationship memories. Instantly upon leaving the session with Caroline I felt so relaxed but so energised, like a fabulous and fierce part of me was back, and it has stayed with me ever since. I’m more fearless about making decisions about what is right for me in my life and what is not, without the need to look back and question myself. I’m more confident in myself and I feel like there is love for myself again, which had been missing for a while.

The messages from the session have stayed with me and are there when I meditate, and when I begin to encounter problems. Caroline is very relaxed, confident and calming as a therapist, which is lovely to experience. I would most certainly recommend her services to anyone wishing to continue to work on themselves.” (SJ)

Controlling IBS symptoms

“My IBS symptoms are now no longer an issue due to hypnotherapy. After my hypnosis I felt I was finally in control. Caroline has massively helped me and I could not be more grateful to her. Caroline’s patience and understanding of my issues really helped – she did not judge me or make me feel like I was crazy, I felt like she just truly wanted to help me. She is very calm and a good soul, and I cannot thank her enough – I would 100% strongly recommend. I have seen Caroline on two separate occasions now and will go back again when I need a bit of guidance and to calm my mind. This woman truly works miracles. I thought that I would be a mess forever but now my anxiety is controlled, my IBS is controlled, and I am able to live my life without any problems.” (HW)

Helping exam performance

The session led to a really calm, positive and confident state of mind at a very high-stress time, and contributed both to C overcoming her mental blocks in the sports trials, and to her success in the highly competitive Art Scholarship exam and interview. She performed better than ever – won her sprint, and was even happy with the cross country and swim which were her big worries. Her frame of mind all week has been so incredibly positive and confident (without being overexcited or hyper), and one very welcome side effect has been that she has slept extraordinarily well! She usually has terrible trouble settling and a week like this would normally mean she’d be worse than usual, but she’s been doing the visualisations at bedtime and drifting straight off – unheard of!” (SR, C’s mum)

“I found the hypnotherapy really relaxing and great – it really helped me achieve my goals and when I practised it it helped even more. I’d say it’s a mix between meditation and hypnotism which is really good and relaxing!” (C, aged 11)

What is hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy involves a safe state of absorbed focus, rather like when you are engrossed in music or a film. Your subconscious mind becomes more receptive to suggestion and change, and it doesn’t matter whether you reach a light or a deeper state as it will still absorb what it needs to. Hypnosis encourages the subconscious mind to mobilise its own resources, and to look more deeply to resolve anything that is holding you back.

Hypnotherapy is completely natural and safe and there are no harmful side effects. When used by a professionally trained and skilled therapist the benefits are long lasting and often permanent.

I can’t decide between hypnotherapy or coaching – help!

Coaching is best suited to practical situations: examples are changing career, setting up in business, moving on after redundancy, or weight loss or fitness goals. I encourage you to find your own solutions by utilising the resources at your disposal, helping you to develop strategies to tackle challenges along the way in order to reach your potential.

Hypnotherapy has proven benefits where the cause of the problem is not generally known, or all else has failed – examples include losing an unwanted habit, performance or exam nerves, and depression and anxiety. Even where the cause is known, such as a demanding job or domestic situation, I can help you manage your stress better.

Feel free to call me on 07947 475721 for a free 15 minute consultation to discuss your individual circumstances before making any commitment.

Can you tell me about some of the techniques you use?

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is the basis of the hypnotherapy approach of the same name, and focuses on unhelpful thoughts, emotions and behaviours which can interact and ‘snowball’. It has been clinically proven to help with conditions such as depression and insomnia.

Ericksonian hypnotherapy is based on the techniques of the American psychiatrist and psychologist Milton Erickson, who specialised in medical hypnosis and took the approach that the unconscious mind is creative and solution-generating.

There is no ‘one size fits all’ method, and I tend to incorporate a mixture of techniques with an overall solution-focused approach to best tailor treatment to you as an individual.

What does hypnosis feel like?

You are in full control the whole time. First we drop down from the conscious – which is only 10% of the mind – into the subconscious. Now we are addressing the whole person, 100% of the mind, rather than just treating the symptoms. I will help guide you into a state of relaxation where your attention may stay focused on what I am saying, or may drift away, or perhaps a bit of both. I will then return you to normal consciousness and you will be fully alert and re-energised, ready to continue with the rest of your day.

How long will it take, and what do I need to do?

Our sessions will be a co-creative process where we work together towards whatever your definition of a successful outcome is. While sometimes only one or two sessions are needed to achieve this, everyone is different and there are no guarantees – we are complex beings, and symptoms which may have been present for many years may realistically take closer to 4-6 sessions to reach a resolve. This will require some commitment from you in order to succeed, and there may be some ‘homework’ (for example, keeping a food/sleep/exercise diary, depending on what you have come for). I will also teach you self-hypnosis so you can take this skill away with you to use any time.
